The morning after our Chinese New Year celebration both Smiling Lolita and I descended into the pit to see what awaited us. With the lights on and in the full glare of… umm, well, there is no daylight down there… we found something dark and terrible. So hideous and gruesome was it that we considered locking the door once more! It was…
WASHING!!!
Yes, that is right. Meanguy2 had to dig out his ‘marigolds’ once again for the big wash since Lolita is strangely terrified of water (unless it comes out of a shower, a bottle, or happens to be the sea). To be
honest, it really wasn’t that bad and together we soon restored our workshop to its homely dark-self once again.
After that we finally got around to our own, private, celebration. The celebration that we had promised ourselves when we had finally come full-circle and completed “1212″. For those that have read our blog they will know of how we have worked hard to get the place finished. As with all projects of such a nature, the end is always around the corner because of the small things that
need to be tied away. Well, with the party last night and the success that it proved to be, both Lolita and I decided that we could finally say, “We did it.”
Looking back from when we first began our project, I don’t think either of us truly realised what we had begun. It was only this morning that we really understood the magnitude of what we had achieved. Yet, with Lolita being the artist and I
the writer, both of us can see beyond “1212″ to what we could improve upon. In that way, it will never be truly finished but merely the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. There are many ideas we have in mind right now and we will be sure to let some of the dark and twisted ones out over time.
So, in celebration of what we had achieved, Lolita made a cake. Now, for those of you that got some of the birthday cake from last night you’ll know only too well how damn good Lolita’s cakes are! Well, let me tell you, this cake was worth walking to hell and back for! To wash it down we forwent the bottle of champagne that we had bought so long ago and instead imbibed one of Lolita’s delectable cocktails – a “Berry, Berry, Bloody”! If you fancy something fruity and which has a bit of a kick then you need to have a go at one of these sometime. Fantastic!
As you can see from the photos, the food and drink was bloody marvellous and served up in true “1212″ style. It brings out the darker side in you…
And in closing (and thus betraying my naturally and unforgiving mean self), I would just like to say a deeply heart-felt… thanks… to Lolita. None of this would have been possible without you.
We brought our nightmares to life…
