Last night, “1212″ reopened for the evening. This time we avoided posting on the Pusanweb. We have decided that it is probably better for us to just announce when we open via this blog and through word of mouth. We don’t want the wrong sort of attention.
Saturday night proved to be very quiet indeed, although that was not a problem for Lolita and I. It just means more food and alcohol for us! Ha! Even so, the tattoo bloke showed up to meet a couple of people that were possibly interested in getting some ink-work done. Unfortunately, the tattoo bloke brought some Korean girl with him (not sure of the relationship there) who proved to be an uncanny cross between an ape and a plank of wood. I wasn’t aware that Busan had an open day for zoo animals but one cannot refute the evidence…
Anyway, she didn’t like “1212″ at all. The chairs were too dusty, the room was too cold, the art too strange. It just wasn’t ‘Korean’ enough for her… no kimchi or pickle sidedish to go with the food. The food that Lolita served up for them both was first tried and tasted by yours truly and was delicious. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet with the Korean girl’s ‘whiter-than-white’ standards. Of course, everyone has different tastes, but it is a commonly known fact that a lot of Koreans have a great deal of problems when travelling overseas. They just cannot survive without the usual Korean dishes or instant noodles. How many times have you seen the airlines flying to Korea provide free instant noodles? Those o
f you that have travelled with Koreans will know the wide smiles that spread across their faces whenever they discover a Korean store overseas that sells instant noodles! So, the Korean girl in question picked her way through the food as if it were some unexploded bomb ready to detonate at a moments notice. The final straw for Lolita, who by this time was about ready to take a spoon to the pouting bitch’s eyes, was when she caught the girl shovelling the banana soup from her bowl into the tattoo blokes bowl. Rather that being discreet about it or just plain leaving it alone, the girl did in full view of Lolita. Needless to say, Lolita gave her a piece of her mind!
For the tattoo bloke: You’re always welcome to drop by (after 7pm), but please note, “1212″ is a pet-free zone. Leave the chimp at home next time. Cheers!
The first to arrive was the hip-hop style Jeff, a young, American(?), bloke looking to get a song tattooed across part of his shoulder/back. He apparently used to do some graffiti art back home with some friends of his and was thinking of doing the same in his apartment (good luck with that… especially if you have key-money coming to you). Not living anywhere near to “1212″ he made a fairly quick exit after a beer but it wasn’t long before the second of our evening’s guests arrived in the form of Tomasz. Tom was to be the only one to hang around after the tattoo bloke departed (with pet chimp in tow) and he stuck around to chat with us until we eventually closed at just before 1am. The only other guest we were to have that night was another Korean, “The Chair Man”, but he made a sharp exit earlier in the evening after discovering that he had never gotten around to removing the long, sharp, stick which he had lodged deep inside his rectum. Those of you reading the blog from the early days will have come across my mentioning of “The Chair Man” once before. After his behaviour last night I doubt that I shall have to mention him again. “Wanker” is the foremost word that tops a rather long list when looking to describe him. Lolita did a sterling job in getting him to fuck off and we were all happy to see the back of the over-sensitive, 30-something, arsehole.
Anyway, Tom, Lolita and I all enjoyed the evening with a few bottles of Spanish red and some of the delectable food Lolita had cooked up. After Tom left, Lolita and I stuck around and finished off the bottle before we switched off the lights just before 4am. It may have been a quiet night but it turned out to be a very entertaining one!
Lolita and I have decided that we will try to open the workshop every Saturday night (from 7pm). I would still advise you to check the sidebar just to make sure, but I think it is safe to say that we’ll be open. So, if you’re in the area and fancy dropping in then please do so. At present, we are not thinking of opening at any other time, but should we ever feel that there are enough people interested in what we are doing then we might reconsider.
Cheers!
